- iOS is my only current platform (the only one where people pay for stuff),
- Cyber Sled was all about the dual joystick controls,
- touch emulated joysticks are a nuisance.
The basic idea is it's a single-player game where you're up on an outpost with a rocket launcher. You're the "city colonel" or something of the kind, ready to defend your average American town against the communist invasion. The backdrop might be made up from photos... The cars are all beige, except as we all know, the commies' only roll in red cars.
Your goal is to tap the indicator. I know, I know, I'm on a slippery slope. My previous game was all about swiping. Now it's about tapping. If this continues, my next game will by about staring. But it won't.
This time, I'm going to set some goals. What is going to be fun with this game?
- Super simple controls,
- a'shootin',
- explosions,
- sending foreigners to the American dream Hell,
- when you get tired of playing you go collateral ftw,
- watching the little piss-ants panic when there is a road block up ahead and someone has a bigger gun than them.
After the initial 57 sold copies of Downwash in November, I sold 3 in December. So it will be free, and I'll have a single in-app purchase for the additional X levels, unlimited ammo and unlimited fire rate. Or maybe I'll do a simple Tekken clone, who knows.
