Ventures of an ex indie game developer

Been there, done that

So vacation's over, too quick this year too. I was invited to Dala Artiste in the Netherlands, who just started an instantly successful IT company and are making big bucks on subscription-based network services for regional companies. B2B is not for me, but I like the sound of minimal work with maximal pay. The only way out of the work-gutter for me, though, seems to be to make a successful application. I.e. a great game, since I'm not really interested in much else, even though there's money to be had.

Then the family visited Legoland in Denmark. And just round the corner me and the kids went on an excursion, paddling in a canoe and some trekking, which was nicer than being indoors looking out the window at the gloomy weather. Although the two-year-old was hovering a bit unruly over the dark lake waters at times.

Game-wise, I've gotten my aim set. It's going to be a clone of a game I played 19 years ago in an arcade on the southern peer of Eastbourne, UK. I'll scrap the monster truck idea unless a presumptive partner in crime shows some interest, it doesn't seem very interesting to me at the moment anyway.

Apart from game-making I'll build a patio and a shed this autumn, so I'm not expecting much to come out. After that I've come up with a fantastic idea for an app from reading up on some contemporary paranormal research, it's not going to be a game, but fun nonetheless. But that's all in the future, now I'm heading off for a super-quick jog and dinner at some friends. Life is still good for a few more days!
