Seamless multiplayer

I was impressed by the multiplayer code in Firemonkeys' Real Racing 3; it was totally seamless. I picked some track and started driving on the iPad within seconds, and all of a sudden I was seeing images of humanoid opponents. Since iOS 5 GameCenter supports photos, so they simply used built-in functionality.
  • No username/password query above the existing one in GameCenter;
  • No "what server" question;
  • No "add friends here";
  • No fuckin' facebook query
  • No hazzle
This must be the counterpart of the 1-click checkout of Amazon, but 0-click, and I love it! Well done Firemonkeys!

I won't manage this for my next game, but if I ever get some cash from some game I'll invest it in some cheap VPS (googled something for $3/month, what kinda quality can be expected from that?) to run game server and master on (the master keeps track of all servers, including load). Then I'll implement some "always online" mode. Mm, really inspiring work that...
