Ventures of an ex indie game developer

Words of wisdom when attempting the near-impossible

I want to start a game development company. "Can it even be done starting with one pair of hands anymore?" I think so, but I know it will take hard effort and excrutiating pain. You might ask why someone would undertake such a task, but the answer to that is another post.

Success might not be easy. I wouldn't know. But standing on the shoulders of wiser men before me, I conclude that I have to:

Do what I love,
be persistent (I can do it,)
work hard (fire and motion - keep pushing on in small steps),
serve others,
make connections,
push against shyness and fear (won't let anybody tell me it can't be done),
nurture ideas (be curious),
focus (stay hungry, stay foolish),
excel at all of the above.

In that order. I must also remember to be proud, but I shan't let it go to my head. I am not the source of my hopefully pending success; it is the kind of luck that eventually arrives to the one struggling.
